Nina Rettig, OD

Dr. Rettig graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana with a Doctor of Optometry; and her undergraduate degree was in Human Biology. A Midwest native, she grew up in Crown Point, Indiana. During her time in optometry school, Dr. Rettig was part of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society and Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, earning the honorable position of Secretary for the Class of 2021. After being nominated by clinical faculty for excellence in delivering primary optometric care services, Dr. Rettig was awarded the VSP/AAOF Practice Excellence Scholarship. Additionally, she completed the following clinical rotations:

  • Moses Eye Care Center, Northwest Indiana
  • Indianapolis Eye Care Center, Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, Charleston, SC
  • Cataract and Laser Institute, Kokomo, Indiana

Dr. Rettig joined Illinois Eye Center in 2021. She is licensed to perform primary care optometry, including the treatment and management of ocular disease. She has published an article in AOSA Foresight Magazine featuring sports vision. Furthermore, she has advanced her areas of expertise by completing specialty training in contact lens fitting.

In her free time, Dr. Rettig enjoys hiking, cooking, and watching movies. She is a travel buff who looks forward to spending time exploring the US and other countries worldwide.
