Am I a Candidate for LASIK Surgery?
At the LASIK Institute at Illinois Eye Center, we look for candidates who exhibit the characteristics we most associate with optimal results. You may be eligible for LASIK if you are:
- At least 18 years of age
- Currently using contacts or glasses
- Experiencing little to no recent vision changes (stable prescription for at least a year)
- Not diagnosed with significant eye disease (corneal scar, glaucoma, retina issue etc.)
- Not pregnant or nursing
It’s important that you’re also healthy overall so that you don’t have any systemic conditions that may affect your long-term eye health. We want you to be happy well into the future, so we take the time to discuss expectations and make sure they’re realistic.
