Sachin Kalarn, MD

Dr. Kalarn is an Ophthalmologist who completed a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland. He went on to undergo a research fellowship in Glaucoma at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. Prior to spending years in Maryland, Dr. Kalarn earned his Doctorate of Medicine and Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics, Molecular and Cellular Biology with a Mathematics Minor at the University of Arizona – Magna Cum Laude.

Dr. Kalarn received several honors and awards throughout his education, including Gold Humanism Honor Society Inductee and two-year-winner of 1st place best poster award – Maryland Society of Eye Physician and Surgeons (MSEPS) annual meeting. Additionally, he has participated in multiple large, multicenter ophthalmologic clinical research studies and several volunteer opportunities in the community. He has a particular passion of using off the shelf technology and health informatics to improve healthcare access and bring high-quality ophthalmic diagnostics to communities and patients most in need. Currently he has a patent pending for the “Stereoscopic Mobile Retinal Imager.”

In his spare time, Dr. Kalarn enjoys traveling, video production and editing as well as 3D printing. He was raised in Phoenix, Arizona and currently resides in Peoria with his wife. He hopes to build a family and strong roots in the Peoria area.
