Whether you are looking for immediate care to address acute/urgent eye conditions or want to find a reliable, eye doctor for routine vision exams – Illinois Eye Center’s Peoria office has got you covered with EyeCareToday, an initiative designed to provide same day eye care when you need it most.
How Does It Work?
EyeCareToday is suitable for patients 5 years of age and older who would like to see an eye care provider with a same-day appointment or on a walk-in basis. An eye care provider will be dedicated to the EyeCareToday schedule each day, and will see all same day appointments and/or walk-ins.
One of our eye care professionals will use a combination of extensive experience and cutting-edge diagnostics to get to the root of your symptoms and recommend an appropriate course of treatment.
What Conditions Do We Treat?
Many of our patients come in seeking assistance for issues such as an eye infection, eye injury, corneal scratches, irritation from a foreign object or extreme allergy symptoms. We can also perform a routine eye exam, during which a doctor will evaluate your vision, screen for eye disease, and diagnose any issues such as astigmatism, nearsightedness or farsightedness. In addition, you can take the opportunity to update your eyeglasses or contact lens prescription.

- Newly developed sensitivity to light
- Sudden double vision or vision loss
- Burning sensation on the eye or eyelid
- Something stuck in your eye
- Sudden changes in your pupil size
- Floaters appearing in your field of vision
- Flashes of light or shadows obscuring your vision
- Itchy eyes
EyeCareToday Success
During our first year of EyeCareToday, our team treated over 5,000 patients with same day eye care. Over 1,000 of those patients were new to Illinois Eye Center, and over 500 of those patients utilized our walk-in flexibility.
